Pero a Tu Lado

In one of those serendipitious moments, I chanced upon this song while watching an old, obscure Spanish film called "Bailame el Agua" with the gorgeous Pilar Lopez de Ayala and really cute in an I-want-to-put-him-in-my-pocket-and-take-him-home kind of way Unax Ugalde.

The movie (with a not-so-hairy Curtis) is about the disenfranchised youths in the streets of Madrid and the requisite prostitution and drug problems. Not to say the least, the movie is depressing, it affects you like the 1995 movie Kids. The haunting song is by the oh-so beautiful Enrique
Urquijo, and in one of life's ironies, he died of an overdose a month before the movie opened.

He was found on 17 November 1999 at the doorway of Calle
del Espiritu Santo No. 23 in Barrio Malasaña, Madrid (it runs parallel to the street where MA lives / used to live).

The dance floor is where y’all can get down to all the 80s hits. So, make your way over, walking like an Egyptian, and don’t forget to do a little moonwalkin’, too.

Also, I hope everyone will gather ‘round the floor when it comes time for Dr. B and Scoopgirl’s very special performance from Dirty Dancing. They’ve been practicing very hard, and I’m sure the show will be ace! (And, remember…nobody puts Baby in a corner.)

Because our retro dance party is all about the 80s, not the 70s (the 70s, like lame, for sure)…we won’t be using a grodie old disco ball…we’ll have a rubik’s cube to light up our floor.
